Hike break! This picture takes me back to an almost identical scene with our late golden, Myah. After a summer day of hiking in the mountains of Colorado, a shorter trek with her new leg, battling osteosarcoma, Myah decided to not just play in the creek a bit, but to lay down and bask in the sunshine and cool her tummy in the snow melt creek. She taught all that met her the true meaning of life.

I’ve been meaning to get this post out for at least a week now…Christmas festivities keep taking priority, and of course I wouldn’t have it any other way.  But, without further ado, one of the easiest projects we’ve DIY’ed in a while…a baby/pet (pet in our case!) gate. Because we believe in education, National Purebred Dog Day feels that it’s not particularly helpful if we only show you what’s acceptable in the world of breed standards, and never what’s not acceptable.  Sometimes there’s a really good reason why a trait is forbidden in a breed often having to do with soundness. Sometimes, the reason is more cosmetic. We leave it to breed experts to make those calls.  We just want you to know what certain terms mean,  and one of them is the “flowered”…
