The Iced Queen: Making a Styrofoam "Dummy" Cake

Tonight I worked with two of the most vile manmade substances on the face of the earth: Styrofoam and Wilton fondant.

Part 1 Step 1. Cut out a section from the styrofoam dummy for the cake. Ensure that the cake and styrofoam don't touch. I covered the styrofoam with parchment and used Crisco to stick them together. Steps 2 & 3 - fill the section with the cake and icing of your choice. Step 4 - Crumb coat the entire tier with buttercream. This will help the fondant stick and will also prevent the dark chocolate from showing through the white fondant. Place in the fridge until hardened.
