The BMW i Pedelec Concept is designed specifically to match the i3 Concept car launched in September last year, and two of them will fit side by side in its boot. It collapses enough to be wheeled onto public transport and is still slow enough (25 kilometres per hour) not to require a license or insurance.
Visually, it looks like a mix between a Segway and a conventional bike. However, the Yike Bike is far from conventional. It is the world’s first folding electric bike. With a top speed of 23 km per hour and a folding time of 15 seconds, it makes for a great way to get around the city. It weights just 10.8 kg and can easily be brought onto public transportation or indoors if desired.
