Just watched Dr. James T. Webb's presentation "Accurate Assessment? . . . Dual Diagnosis of Gifted Children" (available through this link). Great info about giftedness, not just about diagnosis and misdiagnosis. Very helpful. Brings to light the incredible range within the gifted population and some of the lesser known issues.
The adolescent brain develops at a rapid rate. As the individual is exposed to more complex situations, they will learn to problem solve while remembering how they solved the issue for a later experience. In order for proper brain development, they should ensure they are getting enough sleep and proper brain stimulation.
