Egoist: the most expensive teapot in the world ~ Designed and commissioned by Mr Sethia (Newby Teas of London), the Egoist teapot was made by the Milanese jeweller Scavia. It is entirely paved in 1,658 D and E colour grade diamonds and 386 rubies, with a central 6.67 carat Thai ruby. A ruby bead tops the lid.
Price: $265,000 La Modernista Diamonds was made by the Swiss company Caran d’Ache in 1999 in homage to Antonio Gaudi (1852-1926), the most famous of Modernist architects. This amazing fountain pen was sold in Harrods, London, for $265,000, becoming the most expensive pen in GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS in 2001.
Surrey-based Silent Pool Distillers has created what is thought to be the world’s largest and most expensive bottle of gin, costing £5,000. It has been hand-painted by artist Laura Barrett and contains the 24-botanical Silent Pool Gin.
