Lemuel Nelson Bell (July 30, 1894 – August 2, 1973) was a medical missionary in China and the father-in-law of famous evangelist Billy Graham. Few people had more influence on Billy Graham than Bell.

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu, better known as Mother Theresa. She established the Missionaries of Charity in 1950 with just 13 members, eventually it would grow to a staff of 4,000 nuns who would run dozens of orphanages, AIDS hospices, and charity centers worldwide. In 1979 won a Nobel Peace Prize for her establishment of a hospice for dying destitutes.

Father Pierre DeSmet, Society of Jesus. (1864) Father DeSmet was born in Belgium in 1801. He completed the theological course at Florissant, Mo, and was ordained in 1828. He moved to St. Louis, which was to become his home base. He was the founder of the Rocky Mountains missions and became a famous missionary of the northwest United States. Missouri History Museum
