This rich, cheesy, nutty fennel gratin is peak comfort food. Like seriously we want to cuddle it in a fuzzy blanket or something. A little crunchy, a little soft; too soon to tell but this might be the only side dish you cook for the rest of your life.
If you are pinning this to a "low calorie" board, look elsewhere. It's great, but NOT a low calorie food. Fennel, cherry tomato and crumble gratin by Yotam Ottolenghi. I made and loved it. Next time, more tomatoes, a bit of diced onion and definitely basil on top.
