'GEORGE the ghost' has been popping up on staff at Gloucester's City Museum for as long as they can remember. The Victorian building, in Brunswick Road, is so haunted that some staff members have been left too scared to go into certain parts of the museum.

Good Harbor Beach, Gloucester MA. one of our favorite beaches in New England. It is not only beautiful, it has something for all ages, shallows for toddlers, ocean waves, and a tidal river for exploring tide pools or riding the current up or downstream depending on the tides. There is also a good view of Thatcher Island with its twin lighthouses.

The junction of Steep Street and Trenchard Street, Bristol, 1866. John Hill Morgan (b 1833), platinum print. This view was recorded five years before Steep Street, curving away to the left, was demolished and replaced by a realigned road, Colston Street. Steep Street existed in the medieval period when it was the main road from the centre of Bristol to Gloucester.
