Reading faux memoirs about a Victorian-era woman becoming the world’s preeminent dragon naturalist hits the spot. The first book takes you through her childhood where she first became obsessed with dragons all the way to her first expedition when things go afoul. The books are beautifully illustrated with diagrams of dragons and sketches of of her travels.
I consider this to be King's best literary work. I also consider it to be one of the best pieces of literature in the 20th C. It has nearly all literary motifs, and heavy in symbolism. A good read, and a good study in lit!
