I was recently inspired by a Daily Mail article, which detailed how a 7/7 bomb blast survivor, who lost her legs in one of the London tube blasts has defied the odds, to represent Great Britain as a member of the volleyball team at the 2012 paralympics.
A new deal means Great Britain's women's indoor volleyball team will return to the UK until the 2012 Olympics. Last year, their centralised programme was under threat after the sport lost its public funding - forcing players to find club contracts on the continent.

Following the withdrawal of public funding for Great Britain's men's beach and women's indoor volleyball teams, there is now the very real threat that they could lose their guaranteed place in the London Olympics. Nick Hope reports
