What is a Haitian zombie? Haitian zombies are people who've been poisoned by Voodoo priests. Puffer fish venom causes extreme paralysis making the person appear dead. The zombie is exhumed and forced to live with the priest. http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/caribarch/zombi.htm

A Zombie (Zonbi) in Haitian culture, derived of Kongo and Twi African cultures, is not merely a figure of the undead. It symbolizes a captive soul, a slave, a body without the power of his/her own volition. (Painting, Wilson Bigaud http://www.umich.edu/~uncanny/zombies.html). Calling Jesus a Zombie on Easter is a huge misunderstanding of both Zombies and Jesus.
