Born in 1931, Hal Linden grew up in The Bronx to become one of the best known actors in the country. Few know that he also appeared in musicals on Broadway and has a pleasing singing voice. For instance, he starred in “The Rothschilds.” He is better known for his television comedies, especially for the series, Barney Miller, set in a police precinct.
I had the pleasure of hearing Hal Linden at PPAC when I worked there out of college in '89. He was the most fantastic Dixieland Player I had heard live. The man can swing! As we just celebrated Mardi Gras I wanted to recognize this man who had captured my heart so many years ago.
