Photo by @BrianSkerry. A harbor seal plays in kelp near the surface at Cortes Banks, a range of underwater mountains located 100-miles off the coast of San Diego, CA. This location, well known for stormy weather and giant waves, is a hotspot of biodiversity with an abundance of marine life found there. An upcoming story in @NatGeo will examine special places in US waters, like Cortes Banks. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative
