31st First Lady: Lou Henry Hoover (March 29, 1874 – January 7, 1944) was the wife of President of the United States Herbert Hoover and First Lady, 1929-1933. Marrying her engineer husband in 1899, she travelled widely with him and became a cultivated scholar and linguist. During World War I, Mrs. Hoover helped him in providing relief for Belgian refugees.
Dr. Condoleezza Rice, PhD, American political scientist, pianist, professor & diplomat. She was the 1st African American woman, the 2nd African American & the 2nd woman to serve as US Secretary of State. She also was the 1st woman to serve as National Security Advisor. She has been criticized for her connection to George W. Bush, WMD/Iraq War, her conservative views & lack of engagement with the Black community. She is currently a Stanford professor & Hoover Institute Sr. Fellow.
