old town alexandria, va is absolutely breathtaking. i, fortunately, get to visit here almost every year. the history is overwhelming. one piece of advise, however, cobblestone, vodka, and heels don't mesh well.

When the Federal troops invaded Alexandria, this hotel had a huge Confederate flag flying from it.
