If you a parent of a child with a disability (which by federal definition includes ADHD, ADD), your child has rights to receive a Free and Apropriate Education. This sight will teach you your rights to help advocate for your child. No, the schools don't automatically do what is right for your child. You have to educate yourself and advocate.
This is great - it is difficult to try and fully explain the special education process to parents and regular Ed teachers. It is complicated and full of red tape not to mention mentally exhausting - and each state/ county may interpret the law differently for their own school districts... This site developed by a fellow school psychologist just about sums it up! Thanks for making my job easier!
