Here's one of those early surf vocal songs from 1963 -  that was such a hit for the duo Jan & Dean - Surf City. Together with the earliest local hits from The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean were kings of the new surf sound in the Los Angeles area and of course they went on to be international hits.

Jan and Dean were a rock and roll duo, popular from the late through the consisting of William Jan Berry and Dean Ormsby Torrence. They were pioneers of the vocal "surf music" craze that was popularized by The Beach Boys/

We first got to know Jan & Dean in 1959 with their hit Baby Talk - here they are on TV with that song that year -- Jan Barry's on the left and Dean Torrence is on the right singing lead.

From 1963 here's 'Linda' by Jan & Dean - gads, when I hear this,  I feel like I am a teen without a care in the world other than what the next song would be coming on the radio and if the waves were good enough to surf that day!
