Jerry Goldsmith (1929 –2004) was an American composer and conductor most known for his work in film and television scoring. He composed scores for such noteworthy films as Planet of the Apes, Patton, Chinatown, The Omen, The Boys from Brazil, Alien, Poltergeist, Gremlins, Total Recall, Basic Instinct, Air Force One, L.A. Confidential, The Mummy, three Rambo films, and five Star Trek films. He was nominated for six Grammy Awards, nine Golden Globe Awards, four British Academy Film Awards.
The Omen is a 1976 American suspense horror film directed by Richard Donner. The film stars Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, David Warner, Harvey Spencer Stephens, Billie Whitelaw, Patrick Troughton, Martin Benson and Leo McKern. It is the first film in The Omen series and was scripted by David Seltzer, who also wrote the novel.
