THE ALAMO'S MUSICAL DUEL, 28 Feb 1836 - Crockett (Huguenot/Ulster-Scot), in an attempt to raise morale, decided to challenge John McGregor, a Scotsman, to a musical duel of instruments.  McGregor took up his bagpipes while Crockett took up his fiddle.  They played back & forth, loudly enough for the Mexican soldiers to hear, creating one of the most legendary moments in Texas history.
