King Henry V of England married Catherine of Valois.on this day 2nd June, 1420 Supposedly Henry fell deeply in love with Catherine after his great victory at Agincourt. The marriage however was short lived and the two saw little of each other. Henry returned to France to wage war and died within two years of marrying Catherine, never seeing the child she became pregnant with (Henry VI). Catherine went on to have an affair with her Welsh servant, Owen Tudor with whom she had Edmund Tudor
King Henry V (1413-1422). House of Lancaster. 1st cousin 17 times removed to QE II. Reigned for 9 yrs, 5 mos, 11 days. Henry was knighted aged 12 by Richard II on his Irish expedition 1399 and experienced war early. He was wounded in the face by an arrow fighting against his military tutor Harry 'Hotspur' at Shrewsbury. Campaigns in Wales against Owen Glendywr taught him the realities of siege warfare. He was succeeded by his son Henry VI. A movie about him was released in 1989.

King Henry IV (1399-1413). 16th great-granduncle to Queen Elizabeth II. House of Lancaster. Reign: 13 yrs, 5 mos, 18 days. King of England from 1399, the son of John of Gaunt. In 1398 he was banished by Richard II but returned in 1399 to head a revolt and be accepted as king by Parliament. Had difficulty keeping that support so to win support he had to conciliate the Church by a law for burning of heretics and make many concessions to Parliament. His successor was his son Henry V.
