Lillie Langtry (1853-1929) an actress born in Jersey. She married Irish landowner Edward Langtry in 1874. It is said that the attraction to Edward was because of his yacht & that he insisted he take her away & set up home in London. Lillie did not begin her stage career until years later after her husbands bankruptcy.She also had a daughter in 1881, Jeanne Langtry & whose father was not Lillie’s husband.
