DIY :: Mercury Glass look : Works better if you spray water/vinegar combination on outside of glass BEFORE spraying with "Looking Glass". After spraying let dry only about 15-30 seconds and then blot dry. Don't be afraid to apply pressure to bubbles - otherwise it doesn't show up. I did 3-4 rounds per glass piece, depending on how dark or light I wanted the effect.
Spray paint pine cones to have that mercury glass look to them. Use Krylon Looking Glass Mirror-Like Paint on pinecones, add a little fresh or faux greenery to accomplish this look.*** this link really doesn't tell you how to do this, but it's pretty self explanatory (try adding some white twinkle lights in the bowl or apothecary jar!)
