Visited there recently :) Colossal statues of Ramses II (19th Dynasty) wearing the Pshent crown flank the entrance to Luxor Temple. The double crown symbolizes the two regions of upper and lower Egypt.
Temple at Luxor -- Unlike most other Egyptian temples, its main entrance does not face the river and its most obvious axis is aligned towards the temples at Karnak on the royal axis rather than the divine one
Luxor Temple Luxor, Egypt. This temple has a more unified plan than most Egyptian temples mainly due to the fact it was the work of only 3 Pharaohs. (although some research suggests 2) (www.bluffton.edu) The temple is huge in scale and once housed a village within its walls! I chose this picture to emphasis the huge scale in which a lot of Egyptian buildings were constructed.
