'Daybreak' by 1920s American artist, Maxfield Parrish. I have always loved the way in which Parrish used light. Very dramatic. Usually early morning or late, late afternoon sunlight.. .

Maxfield Parrish (1870-1966) was one of the great American Illustrators of his time. He did magazine covers, illustrated story books, and many other things. He’s best known for his painting “daybreak” - it was one of the most printed pieces of art work in his time! And oh, his use of color was marvelous! All of his talents and his looks make him a definite crush
