DbyD-3001 This 36" X 96" Segment Top V-Groove Raised Panel Door and Jamb was built out of Knotty Alder and was Stained, Finished and Installed in Montgomery, Alabama. We used 8711 Casing with 8387 Backband for Interior and Exterior Casing. The Hardware is Rocky Mountain in White Bronze Dark Finish and 12 matching Clavos. The door was stained with Highlighted Special Cherry Stain. The glass is Leaded Seedy Diamonds and there is a Speak Easy Door on the Inside.
This stained glass panel usues a found object, an Italian blown glass item that I found in the clearance department of a local store. I loved the change in blues and greens in the glass, so I surrouned it with cobalt and mediterranean turquoise nuggets. It sort of reminds me of an abstract G-clef so it seems to elicit a cool jazz musical response from my brain when I look at it. It measures 13 x 10 with hanging eyes and chain. The entire work is done in the tiffany style with copper foil.
The main doors are double patio glass doors with wrought-iron details that were custom-made for this family home. According to architect Marie-Louie, they were only supposed to use bronze glass panes on both sides of the two doors. However, Queen Mother Carla requested for colorful stained glass panels.
