Situated on a large, shaded lot in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood, we designed this space with minimal plantings to showcase the traditional/modern mix of the bungalow home. Sport lawns provide ample play space for the kids, while a private meditation garden and outdoor dining space blend seamlessly with the surrounding old-growth trees.
The house rises to nearly the height of the neighboring structure. The plantings on the bridge, which connects the guest pavilion with the master bedroom and media room pavilion, will eventually grow in to create a privacy screen. Photo by Coral von Zumwalt.
