White River, Arkansas,,The Coffee, Wilkes, Leonard, Johnson families migrated by wagon train to what is now Baxter County, Arkansas in 1869.  Col. James Calton Coffee platted the town of Gassville, and engineered the road from Gassville to Mountain Home.  The Leonards became merchants in Mountain Home, and the Wilkes settled inbetween.  All enriching the country with their industry and leadership.
