Movie 1: The Revenant (2015). My rating: 3.5/5. Stunning scenery, fantastic directing, believable and unique characters, great acting, and yet the whole thing is incredibly unpleasant. That was one of the goals, I guess! I didn't feel that it was the plot that redeemed it, but the way that the beauty and power of nature was captured.
The Revenant // Winner of Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Director (Alejandro Iñárritu), Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama (Leonardo DiCaprio) // Nominated for Best Original Score (Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alva Noto).
"I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You never know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you, to make each day count." One of my favorite quotes. :)
Leonardo Dicaprio is my favorite male actor. I love him in all of his early movies, especially Catch Me If You Can. He is just so darn cute and talented, I feel like he can play any role handed to him and I like that adaptability in a man!
