NASA 4) Butterfly Nebula (NGC 6302) Located in the constellation Scorpius, the structure of this nebula is one of the most fragile and complex that has ever been studied. The butterfly shape has lead scientists to name it's structure a "bipolar structure."

Space Station View of Auroras Expedition 50 Flight Engineer Thomas Pesquet of the European Space Agency (ESA) photographed brightly glowing auroras from his vantage point aboard the International Space Station on March 27 2017. Pesquet wrote "The view at night recently has been simply magnificent: few clouds intense auroras. I cant look away from the windows."
May 18 1969 - Apollo 10 View of the Earth A view of Earth from 36000 nautical miles away as photographed from the Apollo 10 spacecraft during its trans-lunar journey toward the moon. While the Yucatan Peninsula is obscured by clouds nearly all of Mexico north of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec can be clearly delineated.
Black Marble - Americas NASA image acquired April 18 - October 23, 2012 This image of North and South America at night is a composite assembled from data acquired by the Suomi NPP satellite in April and October 2012. The new data was mapped over existing Blue Marble imagery of Earth to provide a realistic view of the planet.
Cosmic Winter Wonderland Although there are no seasons in space this cosmic vista invokes thoughts of a frosty winter landscape. It is in fact a region called NGC 6357 where radiation from hot young stars is energizing the cooler gas in the cloud that surrounds them.
