If you’re in the Islands this week—especially if you’re on a north or west-facing coast—you’ve probably noticed Hawaii's big winter waves are back. Tonight, the National Weather Service Forecast Office is again calling for average wave heights of 20-30 feet off Oahu's North Shore. A suite of high surf advisories and warnings have also been issued for locations across the state.
Forecast: Monster surf rolling into Oahu's North Shore A High Surf Warning has been posted for most north and west shores. A huge swell is heading into north and west shores. A High Surf Advisory has been posted for West Hawaii. Surf heights will be extreme by Friday morning. 40-45 feet north, 20-25 feet for the west. East and South shores will be in the 1-3 foot range.
