Terry Nichols, left, (1955-) and Timothy McVeigh (1968-2001) were convicted in the plot to bomb the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995. The attack killed 168 people. McVeigh sought revenge for government sieges at Waco and Ruby Ridge and hoped the attack would inspire a revolt against the federal government. Nichols was convicted as a conspirator. McVeigh was executed in 2001; Nichols is in prison in Colorado.
