1. Found an old window shutter from the thrift store....$4.00 2. Acrylic paint (brown and teal)....$0.98 each. 3. Elmer's glue....$2.98 Used brown as my base, let it dry then put elmers glue ontop. While the glue was nearly dry but still tacky I applied the teal on top of it. The elmers glue helped give the antique/rustic look. Then I painted some old picture frames!
LOVE THIS!!! Know what I'm looking for the next time I go to Salvation Army. Hang old shutters on either side of either a mirror or an old picture window (hung above an entryway table). Hang a wreath, add some pictures/art on either side of the shutters, and add various other decor accents. This is so cute! want to do a version of this above our bed with pictures in the window frames! YES! : )
