The Streak-backed Oriole, Icterus Pustulatus, is a medium-sized Icterid (the same family as many Blackbirds, Meadowlarks, Cowbirds, Grackles, and others, including the New World Orioles). It is primarily found in the Costa Rica and the west coast of Mexico but is a very, very occasional visitor in the South Western United States.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have changed a lot in the 50-odd years that I have been going there. But this stretch of coast in Alabama is still one of the best places to visit. If you can go before the Memorial weekend, so much the better. I love this place.
