From Examples of Chinese ornament, by Owen Jones, London, 1867. Various objects in blue-and-white china. The center composition and the borders at the top of the plate are very Persian in character and arrangement.
From a painted china bottle. We recognize here a mixed style; the flowing stem and treatment of the flower is after the Persian and Indian manner, whilst the form of the leaves is exactly that used in what we have called the fragmentary style.
