Just ordered the Gate City Readyfill. Gate City makes pens based on designs of the past. Here's what they say about this one: "it’s based on a 1915 patent by Henry R. Coit, whose Ready Fill Pen Company sold pens of the same design a hundred years ago. Just rotate the sleeve half a turn, squeeze the filler with a thumb or a finger, rotate the sleeve back, and that’s it."
Pelikan Souveran M450, Tortoise Shell, XF Nib. With a history spanning one and three quarter centuries, The Pelikan Holding, AG, known fondly and respectfully in the United States as The Pelikan Pen Company, is one of the world’s oldest and most distinguished manufacturers of fountain pens and other fine writing implements. Indeed, in 1832 chemist Carl Hornemann first established what would become Pelikan, in Hanover Germany.
Maybe the most stunning pen I have come across. Namiki pen company has returned to a classic form of pen. Reminiscent of the late 1920's with a flat top and sides. The advantage of this design with out clip is a perfect "canvas" for the Maki-e application. $12,000 to $15,000
