The most famous statue of Eros is that which has become a London landmark in Piccadilly Circus since 1893, Interestingly the sculptor Alfred Gilbert, actually intended this statue to be a companion to god to Eros called Anteros or Love Requited. This sculpture was also one of the first statutes ever cast in aluminum.
