Genius. I got a 4x8 sheet of half-inch plywood cut into thirds at Home Depot to end up with 3 pieces of 32x48" -- a good size to fill the empty wall in the dining room. With one-inch spacing, it gave me 32x48 pixels. I scaled down a world map to that size and posterized it to 5 colors (white + 4 shades of gray).
Build your own deck / stage from pallets and plywood. 1) Use gravel or river rocks to level the area you want to use 2) It is easiest if you use pallets that are approx. 48" square as the standard size of plywood is 4x8 feet. 3) You will need one sheet of plywood for every two pallets, I used the 1/2 inch thickness. 4) Lay out pallets and level, then lay plywood on top. 5) Use screws to attach the plywood to the pallets (this will make it easy if you need to disassemble or move)
