The Bend is a medical finger-splint with a revolutionary design. Finger bone fractures can be painful, however dislocations of bones isn’t just about pain, if not treated well, you could lose functionality of that finger for life. Read more at Yanko Design
2017- a new method that combines the organoid method with bioengineering. The researchers use special polymer fibers made of a material called PLGA) to generate a floating scaffold that was then covered with human cells. By using this ground-breaking combination of engineering and stem cell culture, the scientists are able to form more elongated organoids that more closely resemble the shape of an actual human embryo. By doing so, the organoids become more consistent and reproducible.

3D-Printed Music Score - Using a high quality Selective Laser Sintering 3D printer at the University of Wisconsin’s Polymer Engineer Center, an amazing collaboration between blind PhD music student and pianist, Yeaji Kim, and mechanical engineering graduate student, William Aquite, has yielded 3D printed music scores. Usually scores are printed in braille, yet Kim notes that complex 3d-printed-music-scorespieces are very difficult to transfer to braille. 3D printed music scores fix that…
