Another powerful novel for all lovers of post-apocalyptic lit. Two teen sisters are left alone after their parents' deaths at their cabin in the woods of northern California to fend for themselves while they wait for someone to come rescue them in a world gone wild. As time goes on and they realize no help is coming, they must learn to adapt, and live in tune with nature. A really good book! Put it on your to-read list.
After the End by Amy Plum - Searching for fellow survivors of World War III, a girl from a remote Alaskan village discovers that the war never actually happened and that she must now adapt to a strange and dangerous modern world.
The Passage by Justin Cronin. An excellently-crafted modern day dystopian thriller with viruses, government conspiracies, and vampire/zombie-like creatures. Creative and well written. Click through for full review. Via Diamonds in the Library.
