Rick Wakeman. He was such a legendary super man on keyboards at such a young age. Without Wakeman, It is very noticable and lacking. Sure, they made fantastic music but never the same without him. The Wakeman years, early on, was the most magical and grand times for Progressive Rock.

Keith Emerson (1944-2016) was 71 when he died of suicide by a gunshot wound to the head. He was a founding member of Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP), one of the early progressive rock supergroups, in 1970. Emerson was widely regarded as one of the top keyboard players of the progressive rock era.
