God has given us His word to teach us what to do. Why do we often times pray to God asking Him to show us His will or tell us what to do when we haven't followed the instructions already given in scripture? Psalm 51 is a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet went to him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9) David has realized that what the prophet Jeremiah said and fell on his face before God. Isn't it a beautiful thing when Scripture confirms Scripture? Everyone can (and should) do this when they realize their brokenness and desperate need for a Savior.
