Late 19th century recipe for Yorkshire Puddings taken from a recipe book held by the North Yorkshire County Record Office. Exact date unknown. This was written later than the Georgian era, but cooking techniques had not yet changed much.
This is a simple recipe for Yorkshire puddings. Equal volume of ingredients 1 cup of eggs 1 cup of milk 1 cup of plain flour Salt and pepper Whisk all ingredients together. Preheat oven to 230 degrees. Put a small amount of sunflower oil in pudding tins and place in oven. When oil is hot pour the batter into tins Turn oven down to 180\190 after 10 minutes and cook for a further 10 minutes. Perfect!
