Viktoria + Woods have spread their wings to open a new shop in Emporium Melbourne. Their new store is striking in its minimal textured material approach. Soft grey rendered walls, terrazzo floors, rough sawn painted timber display elements and open seam leather ottomans softly engage in a quiet way. Architecturally this store is strong in form. This store is a balancing act between soft and strong elements and materials.
Wyldefel Gardens was built in 1934 and designed by architect John Brogan. In high Continental Moderne style, it is in the community of 22 identical apartments, with curved bent glass windows and beautifully rendered walls and the most exquisite, 90-year-old manicured garden. Looks like an old cruise liner.
