The Ramona Restaurant was a fixture in the first block of North George Street in York, Pa. It closed decades ago, was torn down and the site is now part of the York County Courthouse. This is a 1939 photo. When I was in high school, the restaurant was owned by Bill Asimos, who later owned the Colonial Coffee Shop, down the hill from York Hospital.
I think these might be my favorite tables so far (from the biergarten at the Standard Hotel NYC). I know that long, narrow tables are traditional for biergartens, but I really like these tables. Round tables generally feel more inclusive and friendly to me.
