Controversial: Former FBI agent Henry Wade was the Dallas D.A. in 1963 whose conviction of Jack Ruby was overturned on appeal. Altogether, Wade was in office for 36 years with an unprecedented record of convictions but, just like with Ruby, many of his cases were subsequently overturned due to shoddy detective work, legal bias and accusations of racism.
