Highgate Cemetery, Romford Rd, East London. When I was there in '06, it was the most magical (and quite scary) place to explore. It appeared that at the back of the cemetery (similar to the photo) there were areas that had possibly been bombed due to huge, unexplainable pits in random places where graves had fallen into/been destroyed. The chapel had partially collapsed, and vines and trees found their way inside, as did birds. A quintessential mysterious creepy London cemetery!
Dora Jordan was employed by the National Union of Women Workers to help Essex with polcing duties at the end of World War I. Essex Constabulary paid for her uniform. She worked in Romford with one other lady, Mrs Wilson. Her job was very much like a social worker's today.
