The Chapel of San Miguel is the oldest church in Santa Fe, NM. At Old Santa Fe Trail and De Vargas streets, about two blocks from the state capitol, San Miguel was originally built in 1626, although nothing of that building remains. The chapel's sculpture of San Miguel, the church's patron, was carved in Mexico in 1709. In 1710, the chapel was completely rebuilt.

San Miguel Mission is a Spanish colonial mission church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Built between approximately 1610 & 1626, it is claimed to be the oldest church in the USA. The church was damaged during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 but was rebuilt in 1710 following the Spanish reconquest & served for a time as a chapel for the Spanish soldiers. The wooden reredos, which includes a wooden statue of Saint Michael dating back to at least 1709, was added in 1798
