scabiosa. the dark black variety is my favorite, though the light-colored ones are pretty in their own right. I can't wait to grow this from seed! this series from design sponge has some really pretty elements, and fun information (that would make hilarious add-ins; "this plant symbolizes grief and is supposed to cure scabies, so when I saw it obviously I thought of you! Happy VD!")
