Two other known paintings by Whyte are known; a reverse glass painting of the Essex in possession of the Peabody Essex Museum, and an oil painting of the American sloop Frolic, once in the collection of Franklin D. Roosevelt, then secretary of the navy, and now in possession of the F.D.R Library, Hyde Park, New York.
