The scorpion is mainly found in the southern hemisphere in deserts and jungle habitats alike. The most northern place the scorpion can be found in the wild is the Isle of Sheppey in the United Kingdom, which is a small island in the North of Kent.

St Thomas The Apostle Church, stained glass window. On the island of Harty, which has since been united with the fellow island of Sheppey (in Kent), the tiny church apparently originated but was also brought into disrepair in Saxon times. It was rebuilt by the Normans and broadened through time. Though it was damaged in World War II, it appears intact and retains its pews, old window designs, etc. Photograph (May 23, 2007) by barryslemmings, Flickr.
